PTA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello Parents and Friends,
We have just completed family month which was a huge success at OES. We had the family fun run on the 7th of November which was a great success. Thank you to all of the volunteers and those that participated. The fun run is a great family activity that teaches our children that they can make a difference in the lives of others. We had our family skate night at Classic Skate which is always fun. We tried something new this year and had a family movie night in the gym. We had a great turnout and watched "UP" and had free pizza. We had our grandparent’s lunch for two days where grandparents were able to come eat lunch with their grandchildren and have their pictures taken. We had many other family activities that took place at home or at other schools. Overall, this was a great month about caring and family which is perfect timing as we get ready for the holidays.
November was also reflections month and the awards night was held on November 11th. Congratulations to all of our participants who made judging very difficult.
I had several parents come up to me at the movie night and ask why we were not charging for the pizza and movie. I was able to explain that all of the activities that the PTA is able to offer are because of your support. Your PTA membership dues and mostly your support of the carnival in the beginning of the school year supports and funds all of the great PTA programs for the year. So, thank you for your support and the many of you that volunteer and help make these activities possible. There are many of you that volunteer in the classrooms and spend countless hours helping put on these activities. So in this season of gratitude I want to thank everyone including our teachers and faculty at OES. We are blessed with a great school for our children. I hope that you all have a safe and happy holiday season.
